Despite the not-so-usual fantastic sunny weather, my recent visit to Clerkenwell Design Week in London was nothing short of inspirational. Over the span of two days, I immersed myself in the vibrant world of commercial interior furniture and finishes, exploring a myriad of showrooms that left me brimming with fresh ideas and excitement.

The Kickoff

From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this year’s focus was all about enhancing the workspace with innovative solutions. The trend towards collaboration and breakout spaces was omnipresent, highlighting the need for flexible and dynamic office environments. One standout was the increasing prevalence of private pods designed to provide employees with quiet spaces for important calls or meetings within open-plan offices.

Discovering Innovative Designs

One of the most memorable highlights was JDD's feature seating. Their custom-made modular sofa options are incredibly versatile, allowing configurations that can even wrap around a tree! This flexibility in design ensures that their pieces can adapt to any space or need, making them a favourite of mine for future projects.

I was equally impressed by the extended School furniture range from Torasen/The Senator Group. Their multi-purpose seating options are a fantastic addition to their education portfolio, proving that functional can indeed be stylish. The Colab collection further showcased their commitment to creating versatile and contemporary educational environments.
